This gorgeous double flowered Clematis produces large 6-7” blossoms in shades of periwinkle to soft blue with a small tuft of ivory stamens in the center. The crepe paper textured petals consistently form perfect blossoms for many weeks beginning in late June and lasting until September, perhaps a bit earlier in warmer climates.
Blooms first on new growth beginning in midsummer, and then again on new shoots in early fall. The second round will likely produce smaller flowers than the first and flowers that were double the first time may be single the second time.
Group 3 Clematis - Prune in late winter or early spring. All shoots can be cut back to the previous year's wood, just above the base of the plant.
